 | | Pet Care Franchise | | | | About Us
Barking Mad was founded by Managing Director Lee Southern who hated
the thought of leaving her Dalmatian, Bronte, in a kennel and
didn't want strangers coming in to her
home to walk and feed her whilst she was away.
Our service provides an alternative to kennelling by arranging for
dogs to be accommodated with select host families whilst their
owners are away from home.
Being a Barking Mad franchisee is about setting up, developing and
managing a successful business which provides the perfect home/work
life balance. Activities are essentially sociable and involve
getting out and about, your role being to interview host families,
meet customers and their pets, arrange reservations and provide
prompt and efficient collection and delivery services.
A truly brilliant way to make a living!
Brand Leader
We are now the UKs largest and fastest growing, professional home
from home pet care franchise specialising in home boarding. We
have appointed 23 franchisees in the last 12 months including
our first overseas operation based in Cyprus.
Our Service
Our franchisees offer an invaluable service to both the host family
and pet owner by bringing the two together in a way that is both
mutually and personally fulfilling as well as being highly
profitable. By accommodating pets in a caring environment
with host families where existing feeding and exercising routines
are maintained, we alleviate many of the problems experienced by
pets and their owners at holiday times and other periods of
absence. We take care of everything including the collection
and delivery providing peace of mind for owner and pet alike.
Training
We pride ourselves on the high level of training and continued
support we offer our franchisees. The operation is
practically managed by Lee and her team of professionals, who
provide excellent support for the rapidly expanding network.
As a Barking Mad franchisee you will be invited to train at head
office in Kirkby Lonsdale, Lancashire for 5 days. The exclusive
training programme has been designed to incorporate all aspects of
the business including diary management, accounting, daily
operations and sales and marketing.
We are Full Members of the British Franchise Association, and as
such abide by their Code of Ethics.
Media Launch
During your first month, by using our bespoke marketing plan, you
will begin generating brand awareness. We will pay for all of your
initial advertising and also for the first year Yellow Pages.
On-Going
Support
Once you are up and running it is important to understand that you
are not alone you have the benefit of our continuing support.
We have appointed a Franchise Development Manger who is there for
your benefit. Debra works with you during your training week and is
on hand to guide you through the early stages.
We understand the importance of networking so we regularly arrange
regional meetings across the UK, hold seminars, and organise
training workshops, which you are invited to participate in.
The highlight of the year is the Barking Mad National Conference,
which is funded by Head Office. You and your partner would be

| TESTIMONIALS “Before joining Barking Mad I spent nearly 27 years in the Legal Profession, a career I thoroughly enjoyed for the most part but one which was incredibly demanding. Working with Barking Mad was the opportunity I had been seeking to afford my family, a complete life style change. It’s such a pleasure to provide a professional, caring service to genuine pet owners in my area”. Michael Farrell, Taunton “Prior to Barking Mad, I worked in sales and customer service management. The constant stress and long hours didn’t give me job satisfaction and I started to think “ there must be more to life! ”. So I decided to leave to seek out new and different opportunities….and here I am now, running Barking Mad Northumberland. I’ve really wanted to work for myself for a long time and I also wanted to work with dogs. Barking Mad combines both of my dreams. I now get to talk to dogs and their owners for a living… I can’t believe this is work!”. Tina Young, Northumberland |
